This Is Brought to You by the Letter M... for Migraine
Ciaran BlumenfeldHello magical friends!
When Brain Bombs Derail Best-Laid Plans
This week's blog arrives a little late, courtesy of a two-day migraine that overstayed its welcome. I, like many other migraine sufferers, get these vexing brain bombs from time to time, but this one decided to hang around for 48 hours followed by an additional two days of brain fog.
I am not amused. I'm finishing the final edit on The Magpie Oracle and had not allotted extra time for lying in bed with an ice pack. As I write this, I hope to be at the far end of that tunnel. I will say the world always seems brighter, shinier, and better when the fog and pain finally lifts. Not sure if it's the relief or something more existential and woo, but I definitely look forward to it!
A Woo Story Worth Waiting For
Speaking of woo, I had a whole story saved up to share this week about a recent visit from old friends. We've known them for over two decades through the adoption community—or at least that's how we thought our stories were connected. But last year we learned we had much more history in common than we knew.
Sound intriguing? Tune into next week's newsletter when I'm firing on all cylinders and have the bandwidth to tell this story well! In the meantime, if you want to hear some of my other crazy woo stories, check out the podcast episode linked below. I had no idea I'd be spilling the secrets I did on the Writing Community Podcast, but that's how the conversation flowed. No regrets these guys were so much fun to chat with. Not a surprise given how great their shows area!
