Endings, Beginnings & The Final Chapter

Hello Again Magical Friends!

Late But Intentional

This week’s blog comes in late both because of travel and taking a break yesterday to celebrate Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, with my family. I always get introspective this time of year, and this year is no exception. How can you not when looking ahead to a whole new year?

It’s so intoxicating to have a fresh, clean slate, isn’t it? I wasn’t planning to finish the Natural Magic series the same week as the holiday, but I’m glad it worked out that way. It gives my efforts clear margins and feels like a complete gestalt.

This isn’t to say there won’t ever be more from the Primrose Court crew. I probably can’t resist a couple of novellas in the future, and a spin-off series is already in the works. But the core trilogy is complete, and I’m hoping readers will be as happy with it as I am.

Sweet Sorrow & New Awareness

Finishing it was sweet sorrow. I could have spent a great deal more time in the Mudpuddle Cafe and Bookshop, to be honest. It’s such a delightful space to linger in. I’ve never liked endings, but endings are sometimes needed to move on to new beginnings.

As I get older, I’m more acutely aware of the need to start putting some things down and looking more closely at what I’m carrying forward. There’s only so much time in the day, weeks in the year, and so on. I cannot carry as much as I once did, and I want to make sure my arms are strong for the people and things that matter most to me.

My readers (that would be you!) have made the cut. Part of my commitment in the coming year is to structure my life so I can continue delivering the best reads I can for you.

I’ll leave you with a few fun pictures of my daughter and me in Salem, MA for Getting Witchy With It. We’re both exhausted this week but glad we went. I couldn’t have done this show without my daughter Marly’s help. It was a delight to see some old friends and family (and old friends from childhood that feel like family!) on the East Coast. This is proof that some adventures are worth the chaos they create in our schedules!
